Hayley’s relationship as an adviser with Cardiff-based Touch Trust began when the charity was being restructured. Since then she has joined the Board and, while continuing to provide expert HR advice, her responsibilities have expanded and she is supporting the organisation to achieve a sustainable future. Hayley was key in renegotiating a new lease agreement and has delivered staff training on bullying and harassment. Her commitment and engaging personality have motivated the staff at a time of uncertainty. She personally sponsored the team’s Christmas party and has undertaken significant fundraising for the charity that supports people with profound and multiple disabilities through the arts. Touch Trust praised Hayley’s invaluable support, while she believes that working with the charity has broadened her experience in the arts sector and given her extraordinary personal satisfaction in making a difference to the lives of vulnerable individuals.

Hoodi Ansari, GoCompare

Documentary Photography graduate, Hoodi, is Chair of the Board of g39, an artist-led gallery in Cardiff. He brings vast knowledge of strategic business development to the contemporary arts organisation, gave evidence on g39’s behalf to a National Assembly inquiry and his expertise as had a major impact on the gallery’s stability and performance, as well as boosting its confidence in the future.

Gemma Barnett, Blake Morgan LLP 

Operations Manager, Gemma, joined the Board of Rubicon, the community dance organisation where she used to attend classes. Her range of business skills strengthened the Board and Gemma has also used her professional connections to introduce Rubicon to many opinion formers and potential funders. She leads on aspects of strategic business change and is about to become Vice Chair of the Board.

James Downes, Companies House

As a Board member of Hijinx, James oversaw the introduction of a new digital strategy and helped with GDPR compliance, as well as creating a new management structure. Hijinx feels his contribution has been invaluable and James says that working with the company has brought him personal and professional benefits and developed his understanding of diversity.
