Meet the Interns 2016/17

1st Years

Bethan Lewis & Artes Mundi

Bethan is a Textiles graduate of University of Wales Trinity Saint David.  With a passion for the visual arts and a desire to see the creative sector in Wales thrive, Bethan is ideally placed with the team working on the imminent Artes Mundi 7 exhibition. She is very much looking forward to the behind the scenes insight she will gain into the exhibition and to learning about securing business partnerships, individual giving and trusts and foundations grants for future exhibitions. 

Nathan McCarthy & Sherman Theatre

A Theatre and Drama graduate of the University of South Wales, Nathan is looking forward to working at a venue that he has visited many times over the years. Nathan has joined Sherman Theatre at an exciting point with a very busy year ahead. Alongside the Fundraising Manager he will be exploring trust applications, business sponsorship and an individual giving scheme.

Eleanor Prescott & Wales Millennium Centre

As a Journalism graduate of Cardiff University, Eleanor sees Wales Millennium Centre as the very heart of the arts in Wales. She is excited to be working alongside the development team, focussing on business sponsorship & account management, individual giving and researching and preparing applications to trusts. 

2nd Years

Clio Ryan & The Gate Arts Centre

Having spent her first year internship at Artes Mundi, Clio is looking forward to further developing her fundraising skills during her second placement at The Gate Arts Centre. Community engagement is very important to Clio and a priority for The Gate.  She will be working with the team to develop trust applications, business partnerships and individual giving.

Alex Roberts & National Theatre Wales & Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama


Alex spent her first year internship at National Museum Wales working on trust applications, individual giving and cultivation events.  She is now embarking on 2 part time placements - 1 with National Theatre Wales and 1 with the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.  Alex aims to further develop her skills on writing trust applications and working with individual donors.  She is also keen to explore sponsorship, a new area for her.
