Meet the Interns 2019-20

Greta Bettinson & Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama

Greta has a first class degree in Fine Art Practice from the University of South Wales. She has a passion for enabling disadvantaged people to access the Arts and has worked at Baseart Ceramic Studio in Taffs Well delivering workshops and helping with charity events and has also volunteered at Vision 21’s gift shop selling crafts made by disabled students as well. Greta’s role at the College will focus on Trusts and Foundations but will provide her with a broad foundation for a career in the arts fundraising sector.

Isobel Boulton & Wales Millennium Centre

As a graduate of Cardiff University School of Journalism with a passion for the Arts, Izzy has immersed herself in the arts scene in Cardiff, with a particular interest in music, having worked at Clwb Ifor Bach during her studies. Izzy has been involved in various fundraising events throughout her school days and is very excited to be joining the Centre’s Development Team.

Millie Bethel & Rubicon Dance 

A Cardiff University English Literature graduate from Tredegar, Millie has a passion for community arts engagement, and has worked as a volunteer at Pontypridd Museum during her studies. Millie is looking forward to getting stuck into community fundraising at Rubicon Dance at a very exciting time in their growth and development.

Owen Jones & Literature Wales

Owen is from Brecon, and has a First Class degree in Literature and Creative Writing from Cardiff University. He has a passion for film, music and literature and was President of the University Film Society so he is delighted to be on placement with Literature Wales. Owen will be joining their small team at a crucial time as they start to develop their corporate fundraising strategy and Owen’s Welsh language skills will also be of huge benefit to the organisation.

Florence Gygax & Welsh National Opera

Florence is from Belgium and has a Masters from Cardiff University in Global Culture and Creativity, having completed her degree in Translation and Interpretation in Belgium. Florence is fascinated by the Welsh Cultural sector and has devoted many hours of her spare time to volunteering in the Arts in Cardiff whilst studying. She has a personal passion for Opera, and so is thrilled to be joining the dynamic development team at Welsh National Opera, working specifically on corporate fundraising.
