Celebrating Creative Collaboration
The search is on for the best in creative partnership as Arts & Business (A&B) Cymru launches its 24th annual awards ceremony.
The Awards, which encourage, acknowledge and celebrate exemplary partnerships between the private sector and the arts, reflect the broad range of work undertaken by A&B Cymru. The 2017 ceremony, sponsored for the 7th year by Global Energy Company Valero, will take place on stage at Wales Millennium Centre on Friday 23 June.
The Awards categories are:

- Arts, Business & Employees, sponsored by Western Power Distribution
- Grant Stephens Family Law Adviser Award
- Admiral Business of the Year
- Hospital Innovations Arts Award
The crucial role that individuals play in supporting the arts across Wales is once again being recognised by an award for philanthropy. Personal generosity is playing an increasingly important part in Welsh cultural life and A&B Cymru has a major role in encouraging public recognition for this method of arts support. In 2017, the award has been renamed the Robert Maskrey Award for Arts Philanthropy to mark the wide ranging and staunch support given to A&B Cymru and the arts across Wales by the late Mr Maskrey over many years.

In addition to the cash sponsors of the awards, A&B Cymru works with a range of event partners on its flagship ceremony, all of whom are central to the success of the evening. They are media partner Orchard Media & Events, Cardiff Airport, Carrick Design and Print, Celtic Spirit Company, FlightLink Wales, Flower Lodge, Fruitapeel, Intercity Removals, Llanllyr Source.
The award winners will be chosen by an independent panel of judges who have expertise in practical art forms, sponsorship and the aims of the private sector. The individuals who will judge the business partnership categories are: Sian Humpherson, Business Consultant, Royal Oak Hotel Betws-y-Coed; Debbie Green, Chief Executive of Coastal Housing; Artistic Director of Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, Arwel Gruffydd; La-Chun Lindsay, Chief Executive of GE Aviation Wales; and Craig Stephenson, Director of Commission Services, National Assembly for Wales. The Grant Stephens Family Law Adviser Award will be judged two stalwarts of A&B Cymru’s Professional Development Programmes, Business Consultant Ian Hannah, and Jeremy Jones of Fulcrum Direct.
The successful individuals and companies will once again receive trophies specially commissioned for the ceremony. This year they will be designed and made by Ingrid Walker, a stained glass artist living and working in the Vale of Glamorgan. Ingrid takes inspiration from her surroundings, including wildlife and the landscape. Her awards will be stained glass mounted on driftwood and depict landscapes which reflect the Welsh Government’s Year of Legends, celebrating the past, present and future of the nation.View all news
